Stylish, sophisticated homewares home Carga is right on Jalan Petitinget, just 2 minutes walk from Tonys Villas. Tourist loved Carga as their pieces are unique, and not seen everywhere else on the island but are surprisingly well-priced, given they may look a bit fancy. Their range of chic-Balinese and Indonesian goodies covers the lot: rattan, batik, teak, candles, linens, stationary, crockery, ceramics, vintage prints, cards, and even furniture.

BBS’s equally-brightly coloured neighbour Mister Zimi is a huge fave of expats and visitors alike. Bold, bright patterns in a range of simple but stylish dresses, tops, wide legged pants and skirts, are seen island-wide. For good reason, designer Zoe-Zimi spends half her year based in Bali so she knows what we love. Don’t forget their Mini Zimi range is way too cute for the little ones. The two stores surrounding BBS carry different ranges and styles – so check out them both.

Island stylin’. This row of brightly coloured shed boxes smack in the middle of snazzy Seminyak is home to a huge range of maxi and cute little dresses, playsuits, tops, kaftans, swimwear, accessories and more. They also carry their own range of Mister Zimi pieces, and you can style up the man in your life with their major range of cool, menswear pieces. Our faves: for her – too many to mention; for him – the flamingo button-up shirts, for sure.

This is Bali’s gorgeous, retail emporium on a new level – Souq’s international, elegant ranges are unlike anything else on the island. Translating as ‘marketplace’ in Arabic, Souq’s homewares, fashion ranges, and an elegant café are all beautifully showcased in this vast, impressive showroom with floor to ceiling treasures. Think racks of Jaclin Chouchana bikinis, MKANH lace slips and Laurence Pasquier staples, but our faves include their panama hats, designer childrens toys and anything for the wardrobe!

This fave, all-white-interior store acts as a canvas for their popping range of exotic and eclectic homewares, jewellery, artworks, linens, sculptures, accessories, fashion, and more. It’s like an Aladdin’s cave of treasures – some pop (that would be the neon), some sparkle (crystals), some shine (bling, bling!), and others ooze understated, Scandinavia sophistication… but they will all want to be taken home!
